Description
For Walter Rosenblum, photographing was a way of making an emotional connection with his subjects. He did not come to a place for a few days, take pictures, and leave; he visited regularly over months or even years. Rosenblum strove, through photography, to demonstrate the humanity and courage of individuals who survive, and even experience joy, in stressful environments. He especially enjoyed shooting children and revealing their innocence, openness, and imagination.- A New York Minute: Street Photography, 1920-1950. The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH (organizer) (July 11-November 7, 2021).
