The fairy tale Cinderella tells of a neglected servant girl who, aided by a fairy godmother, attends a ball and falls in love with a prince. The prince finds his true love by fitting a glass slipper on her foot. Eugen Neureuther made this elaborate etching depicting several scenes from the story during a revival of interest in folk tales in Germany in the early 19th century.
