Did You Know?
Davidson’s photographs of Spanish Harlem were used as evidence of squalid housing conditions in claims against New York City.Description
Davidson spent two years photographing in Spanish Harlem, attempting to integrate himself into the daily lives of its residents. In the past he had used a 35mm camera, but here he turned to a large-format, 4 x 5-inch camera, which requires a tripod and slows down the act of photographing, making the session more of a shared experience, a give and take.- {{cite web|title=Untitled (52563)|url=false|author=Bruce Davidson|year=1966–1968|access-date=11 November 2024|publisher=Cleveland Museum of Art}}
