Description

Sara Arellama Rodriguez came to Lima at age 16 to study music and became a high school teacher. After retirement, she began selling religious items in front of the capitol building. The artist wanted workers like Rodriguez, who serve the tourists and wealthy Lima residents of the upscale Miraflores area, to be seen as individuals, so he handwrote their life stories around their portraits.
