Description

Erasmo Herrera came to Lima at age 16 and helped his brothers, who worked as landscapers. Eventually, he started his own landscaping business. “I don’t have bosses, set schedules. I wouldn’t change my job,” he said. The artist wanted workers like Vargas, who serve the tourists and wealthy Lima residents of the upscale Miraflores area, to be seen as individuals, so he handwrote their life stories around their portraits.
