The greenery of this Singapore hotel equals twice the land area occupied by its building.

Description

Esme floats above the traffic in the hotel’s balcony pool, surrounded by greenery. The hotel contains over 160,000 sq. ft. of plantings. The entire population of the city-state of Singapore lives in urban areas. Their government encourages the reincorporation of nature into the city. Lucas Foglia says that images such as this one “examine our need for “wild” places—even when those places are human constructions.”
