Did You Know?

For two months in 2020, the faces of Black citizens killed by police were projected on a monument to Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

Description

The suffocation of George Floyd by a white police officer on May 25, 2020, was one of the main incidents that sparked a summer of international protests against White suprematism and police violence against people of color. The projections of the faces of Black victims of police violence were created by two Richmond artists as part of those protests.
