When Cleveland’s black population boomed in the 1920s, most of the newcomers settled in the Central neighborhood.

Description

This space, at the eastern end of Cleveland’s Central neighborhood, has been home to several churches in the 2000s. Storefront Christian churches in northern cities such as Cleveland, initially a product of the Great Migration, continue to play an important role not just in black but also in Hispanic and Asian communities.
