The box for the bowl carries an attestation by Yohei IV that it is the work of his predecessor.Description
The bowl has slightly more detailed surface designs painted in blue under the glaze than some other Yohei III's other teaware, like the Water Cooler with Pines, CMA 2022.163. The three pines, with two, three, and four racks of boughs respectively, have more angular rather than curved trunks, with clearly articulated bark.- ?–2022James and Christine Heusinger, Berea, OH, given to the Cleveland Museum of Art2022–The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH
