Did You Know?

This image is a staged scene created by the artists to dramatize the damage humans have done to the earth.

Description

Since the 1990s, husband-and-wife team Robert ParkeHarrison and Shana ParkeHarrison have created photographic tableaux that address our responsibility for healing the harm that humans have inflicted on planet Earth. “Our photographs offer visual poems of loss, human struggle, and personal exploration within landscapes scarred by technology and overuse,” relate the artists. The man represents an Everyman who is earth’s protector. Note how low-tech his tools are.
