Did You Know?

Tom Marioni studied art making in his native Cincinnati during the 1950s.

Description

This print belongs to a series of 47 monotypes created during the 1990s, in which ephemeral tonal forms reach evocatively from the lower margin of their sheets. Tom Marioni, its creator, is an Ohio native whose printmaking practice intersects with his work in other media and his interest in conceptual art. He produced the work at Crown Point Press, a renowned San Francisco print shop founded by Kathan Brown, his wife and collaborator.
