Did You Know?

Larry Burrows’s color images were printed for the first time only after his death.

Description

Burrows died at age 45 while covering the Vietnam war; the helicopter he was traveling in was shot down. A photojournalist, he covered the conflict for Life Magazine, which in those days reached a quarter of the US population. Photojournalism was occasionally displayed on museum walls, but magazines and newspapers were then considered more important ways to disseminate such images.
