Did You Know?
Larry Burrows’s color images were printed for the first time only after his death.Description
Burrows died at age 45 while covering the Vietnam war; the helicopter he was traveling in was shot down. A photojournalist, he covered the conflict for Life Magazine, which in those days reached a quarter of the US population. Photojournalism was occasionally displayed on museum walls, but magazines and newspapers were then considered more important ways to disseminate such images.- {{cite web|title=Inspecting 122mm Artillery Piece Near Laotian Border|url=false|author=Larry Burrows|year=1968|access-date=02 September 2026|publisher=Cleveland Museum of Art}}
