A horizontally oriented albumen print panorama depicts a mountainous landscape in muted brown tones, split by a central vertical seam. Weathered stone watchtowers and wall segments anchor the foreground on both sides. From the center, the Great Wall winds steeply upward along a ridge toward the upper right. Jagged peaks fill the background beneath a pale sky, highlighting the rough textures of the stone fortifications and undulating earth.
