The Royal Armouries in Leeds, England, is home to one of the finest collections of arms and armor and anannual international jousting tournament.

Description

A burgonet is a light, open helmet characterized by a peak, a fall over the eyes, and hinged earpieces. It was used by cavalry in the 1500s and 1600s and sometimes worn with a buffe or separate detachable element that would protect the face and throat.
