The CMA's open access images were uploaded to the free media repository Wikimedia Commons and the associated collections metadata is included in Wikidata, Wikimedia's free knowledge base. This makes the images and metadata available for wide and impactful adoption in Wikipedia articles, in other Wikimedia projects, and for broad creative re-use by anyone.

Wikiproject Cleveland Museum of Art is on English Wikipedia. It is a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. The project is managed jointly by the Ohio Wikimedian Users Group and staff at The Cleveland Museum of Art.
