Did You Know?

Winged Victory, or Nike, is shown riding a four-horse chariot, likely a good luck charm for the owner.

Description

This oval jasper gemstone is incised with a scene of the goddess Victory in a chariot being pulled by four galloping horses. The horses’ hind hooves all touch a curved ground line at the bottom of the composition. The stone is set in a gold mount with toothed edges holding it in place, attached by a loop to two additional gold rings.
