Description

Baumann found his greatest inspiration in nature and was especially interested in the fleeting effects of weather and atmosphere. Created with five blocks to print six colors, Grand Canyon portrays the awesome scale, eerie supernatural light, and brilliant color of this remarkable place amid an evanescent rainstorm. An amazing achievement of the color woodcut, the effects of falling rain and shadows moving across the canyon at twilight energize the arid, rocky gorge.
