A vertically oriented black-and-white etching depicts a man standing with feet spread, wearing a voluminous dark cloak and ruffled white cuffs. His intense gaze is framed by dark hair and a mustache. A long sword lies abandoned on the ground, casting a heavy shadow toward our right. Dense horizontal hatching fills the background, and the signature 'manet' is inscribed in the lower right corner.
