Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (August 15, 1853) as plate 6 from the series Aquatic Sketches.
A horizontally oriented lithograph in black ink on cream paper depicts two people with light skin tones on a beach. On the left, a thin, hunched woman in a dark swimsuit drips water from her nose. Facing her, a man in a dark jacket and striped pants bows while holding a rounded hat. Swimmers dot the background water, and a building sits on the horizon. Text frames the image at top and bottom.
