Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (September 18, 1842) as plate 25 from the series Ancient History.
A vertically oriented lithograph depicts Hercules, a winged child, and Omphale, all with light skin tones. On the left, Hercules wears a lion skin and walks toward our right. In the center, the child floats while holding a massive club and touching Hercules's nose. At the far right, Omphale sits in profile facing left, holding a spindle. The scene is rendered in sketchy black lines against a simple background.
