A horizontally oriented etching and aquatint depicts four men with mechanical wings soaring through a dark void. At our left, a large figure in a bird-headed helmet glides rightward. To the right, a second figure is seen from behind beneath a domed, parachute-like wing. Two smaller figures drift in the lower half. Sharp highlights and dense hatching define their pale, muscular forms, creating a stark contrast against the featureless, aquatint-shaded background.
