Did You Know?

The woman's under robe has a painted collar signed Gototei, the secondary name of Kunisada.
A vertically oriented color woodblock print depicts a light-skinned woman leaning toward a translucent, rectangular floor lamp. She wears a patterned red kimono, her black hair pulled into a bun. To our right, a green garment drapes over a tall screen. Japanese calligraphy appears within a decorative circular border at top left, with signatures near bottom left. Fine black outlines and flat colors define the figures against a neutral background.
