A horizontally oriented gum tempera painting depicts a battle within a black floral border. Left, a red, horned man sits in a white arched pavilion beside a pink wall. Right, light-skinned Devi rides a tiger holding a lotus, while four-armed, dark-skinned Kali stands nearby with a sword and garland of heads. Below, in a green field, red, blue, and yellow figures are slaughtered by gray-skinned adversaries in chariots and on foot.
