Description

This manuscript, consisting of 188 double-sided folios, was calligraphed by a scribe at a monastery in northeastern India, commissioned by a monk from Nepal.
A horizontal palm leaf features three rectangular blocks of dense black script on a tan, fibrous surface. These sections are separated by two circular holes positioned toward the left and right. Small characters appear below the leftmost and central blocks. The leaf has irregular, worn edges and a natural texture. Tightly packed rows of black ink create a rhythmic pattern across the long, weathered manuscript.
