Description

In addition to the rare bound volume, the museum owns individual impressions of prints from The Apocalypse.
A vertically oriented engraving in black ink with an arched top depicts architectural collapse. In the foreground, a woman falls backward onto a creature with seven heads. To our left, a musician stands near broken columns. Above, a stone building crumbles amidst smoke. On our right, a dense crowd and soldiers on horseback look toward the woman. In the upper right, a winged figure hovers among clouds overlooking the destruction.
