Description

One wing of a small altarpiece, called a triptych, was undoubtedly made for private use.
A vertically oriented tempera and gold panel depicts four figures in two registers framed by ornate vine patterns. In the top register, St. Peter in green and St. Paul in pink stand against shimmering gold. Below, St. George spears a dark dragon on our left while St. James, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, walks on our right. All have light skin tones, elongated bodies, and wear flowing garments in muted pink, green, and blue.
