Description

In Persian albums, pages of calligraphy alternated with paintings. These verses have been written in an elegant nastaliq, a cursive form of the Arabic script.
A vertical manuscript page features six lines of black Persian calligraphy on a gold-flecked central rectangle. This core is framed by a dark blue border with delicate gold vine patterns. Numerous small rectangular panels and diagonal columns containing finer script surround the center. A final wide tan border with gold floral motifs encloses the arrangement. Slight discoloration and wear are visible along the left edge of the paper.
