Description

This print was published in the journal La Caricature (No. 210, November 13, 1834) as plate 439.
A horizontally oriented print in black ink depicts seven portly men in formal suits and robes. To the right, several pairs embrace, their arms wrapped around one another as they simultaneously reach into each other's pockets. To the left, a man in a dark robe and cap faces away while another reaches into his pocket. On the far left, a shorter man smirks toward the group. Figures are rendered with soft lithographic shading.
