Description

In Greek mythology, Oceanus was ruler of the sea before Poseidon. His counterpart in Roman mythology is Neptune
A white porcelain sculpture depicts a bearded man with a shell crown standing on a jagged, wave-like base. He faces our right but looks to our left, resting his right hand on his hip and his left arm on a billowing cloak. Intricate, ruffled frills line his sleeves, trousers, and the long, trailing hem of the cloak. The work has a uniform, glossy finish.
