Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (August 8, 1851) as plate 183 from the series News of the Day.
A vertically oriented lithograph in black ink on cream paper depicts two men flanking a pedestal. To our left, a spindly man in a top hat and long coat stands with open palms. To our right, a muscular man with his back turned raises a clenched fist. Between them, a head rests on a base featuring a circular dial. Arched across the top, the word "MAJORITE" appears in thin, sketchy letters.
