Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (December 1, 1855) as plate 249 from the series News of the Day.
A vertically oriented lithograph depicts a man with a large mustache in profile, looking down at a top hat held in his hands. He wears an ornate crown, a military jacket, tall boots, and a sword. To his right stands a table with papers. Fine hatching creates depth and shadows across the scene. Faint, reversed text appears above the man, while French text lines the bottom margin.
