Did You Know?

This element of a stained glass window depicts Saint George, the saintly knight who was thought to have killed a dragon terrorizing a Libyan city.
An octagonal, lobed stained glass panel depicts the head of a knight, Saint George. Encased in a white and yellow helmet with the visor raised, his face is rendered in fine black lines with eyes directed downward. This central figure is surrounded by a fractured mosaic of saturated red, yellow, blue, and green glass shards. Heavy black lead lines segment the vibrant composition, creating a jagged, multicolored border around the portrait.
