Did You Know?

Dai Jin is traditionally considered the founder of the Zhe School, a style of landscape painting.
A handscroll features a vast landscape in muted gray and tan tones. On our far right, a rectangular panel contains four black characters. Moving left, misty mountains with textured brushwork rise above a wide river, with overlapping peaks suggesting depth. Numerous columns of black calligraphy cover the light paper on the far left. The expansive composition transitions from textured terrain into a fading, misty background.
