Did You Know?

In the Panama-Costa Rica region, gold ornaments were associated with political and religious authority.
A gold figurine pendant depicts a humanoid figure with long, outward-curving horns. Large spiral ears flank a face with protruding eyes and a twisted cord extending from the mouth to its hand. The other hand holds a short rod. The torso is narrow with squared limbs, and the elongated legs are marked with vertical ridges. The entire piece has a warm metallic sheen and lacks fine facial features.
