A vertically oriented lithograph in thin, dark lines depicts Berthe Morisot, a woman with light skin tone seen from the shoulders up. Facing us, her wide-set eyes and horizontal mouth are rendered with delicate strokes. An irregular, dark form sits high on her head like a hat. Wavy hair frames her face, a small hoop earring visible on our right. Sparse, gestural lines outline her shoulders and clothing against a plain, light background.
