Did You Know?

Vuillard lived with and drew artistic inspiration from his widowed mother, a seamstress, until her death in 1928.
A vertically oriented color lithograph in green, yellow, black, and red depicts a figure standing beside an open doorway. On the left, a large black bow hangs from a lamp fixture over patterned wallpaper, and a green textile with red patterns sits in the foreground. Through the doorway, a red shape is visible in a white room. On the right, a woman with pale skin tone in a long green dress stands in profile.
