Did You Know?

In the Panama-Costa Rica region, gold ornaments were associated with political and religious authority.
A gold pendant depicts a bird-like figure with outstretched wings and a broad, fan-shaped tail. The head features a long, protruding snout and a neck textured with rows of raised rectangles. From the chest, two small, rounded forms protrude. The wings curve upward at the tips, with a row of small spheres along their lower edges. Dark spots are scattered across the polished surface of the entire piece.
