Description

People crowding the Ryōgoku Bridge over the Sumida River and those aboard party boats below enjoy summer fireworks. Among a group gathered on the riverbank a little boy stands holding his caged pet cricket in one hand, and a young woman’s hand in the other.
A woodblock print depicts two women and a child with white skin, red lips, and black hair on a dark riverbank. A woman in a floral reddish-brown kimono holds a boy's hand as he carries a cage. Beside them, another woman in a tan robe holds a circular fan. In the background, lanterns glow on boats along a gray river beneath a wooden bridge. Text is inscribed in the lower right.
