Description

Thomire was the most productive and famous bronze caster in Paris around 1800. The border of this flower stand was cast from the same molds used for a centerpiece signed by Thomire; therefore, the stand can safely be presumed to have been produced by Thomire as well.
A wood and gilded bronze flower stand features a circular top with a high, pierced golden rim. Below, a wood band is decorated with golden swans and wreaths. Three golden swans with curved necks and spread wings serve as legs, ending in paw feet. These rest on a triangular wood base with a central golden pinecone ornament. The structure is supported by three small, round wooden feet.
