Description

In the center of this plate a majestic coiled dragon is surrounded by clouds, a wave pattern, and five-petaled rosettes around the rim. In front of the dragon's mouth is a flaming pearl, a symbol often associated with dragons from this time. The plate achieves distinctive visual contrasts with green glaze and brown, and its main decorative motifs are raised.
A shallow, circular porcelaneous stoneware plate features a pale green glaze. A central medallion in raised relief depicts a reddish-brown dragon coiling among stylized clouds. Concentric wavy patterns fill the inner walls, while the flat rim is marked by sixteen evenly spaced, five-petaled flowers. The contrast between the cool glaze and warm, unglazed clay highlights the intricate molded designs across the surface of the vessel.
