A horizontal ink painting features a gnarled tree leaning left from a rocky ledge. Its thick, layered bark is textured with dark spots of foliage. At its base, small bamboo shoots grow near a tiny figure in a distant boat. Soft, horizontal grey washes create misty hills above. On the left, vertical columns of Chinese calligraphy and red seals frame the scene, while another red seal marks the bottom right corner.
