Description

These pinnacles were originally set on top of a multipanel altarpiece that has now been lost. The angels' gestures and glances suggest that they were placed to the left and right of a central image.
A pair of vertically oriented, triangular tempera and gold paintings depict winged angels against shimmering, incised gold backgrounds. On our left, an angel with a light skin tone looks toward the upper right, wearing a reddish garment and gray cloak. On our right, an angel with a light skin tone faces left, wearing a pinkish cloak and holding a thin white rod. Both figures feature gold halos and dark feathered wings.
