Description

These pinnacles were originally set on top of a multipanel altarpiece that has now been lost. The angels' gestures and glances suggest that they were placed to the left and right of a central image.
A triangularly oriented tempera and gold painting on a wood panel depicts an angel with brown hair looking upward toward the left. The figure has arms crossed over a gray-green mantle and patterned red robe. Dark wings with red undersides emerge behind them against a gold background. A golden frame borders the three sides of the composition. The angel has large eyes and light skin tone.
