A vertical manuscript page displays flowing rows of black Persian calligraphy on aged, tan paper. Thin gold lines partition the undulating script into neat columns. One word near the top is written in striking blue ink. At the bottom, two lines of larger gold script stretch across the page. A delicate red and gold border frames the composition, which is marked by dark stains and wear along the lower edge.
