Did You Know?

The lynx family, unseen by the lion, appear on the right.

Description

The monkey, acting as the lion’s chamberlain, encourages him to confront the family of lynx that have taken over his home. However, the lion is fearful, having been tricked into believing that the hidden lynx are vicious, lion-eating creatures.
A vertically oriented book page features Persian script in the upper half and a vibrant landscape painting below. The scene is bisected horizontally by purple-pink hills against a bright blue sky. In the foreground, a tan lion with its mouth open faces a seated gray monkey on the left. To the right, four rabbits face away toward lush green trees. A thin red, gold, and black border frames the entire composition.
