A vertically oriented rectangular page of cream-colored paper features rows of fluid black script. The text is divided into three horizontal sections by thin red and black lines, with the center section split into two columns. A narrow border of red, black, and gold lines frames the calligraphy. The aged paper surface is mottled with dark flecks. Small characters are occasionally written outside the primary lines in the margins.
