Description

Latif stands above his brother’s body with both hands raised in a gesture of astonishment. Khurshid kneels beside the bed listening to his accusations with resignation. In her hand, she holds the bloody knife that Latif placed there while she slept. On the right, an astonished man peers at the scene of the murder through an open window.
A manuscript page features Persian script above a gum tempera and ink painting depicting a gold-domed pavilion. Inside, a light-skinned man in an orange robe lies on a floral bed. Beside him, a man in a green robe gestures broadly. To our left, a woman in a blue skirt kneels on a purple-tiled floor. On our right, another man in a pink robe watches from outside.
