A vertically oriented page of warm tan paper is inked with thirteen horizontal rows of black Persian calligraphy. The characters feature long, sweeping strokes and numerous curves, punctuated by small orange-brown diagonal marks above and below the letters. Faint brown discolorations mark the lower center. A thin border of gold and dark lines frames the writing. The script flows across the page with a rhythmic and disciplined elegance.
