Description

‘Ubaid, who was so infatuated with his new wife that he neglected his duties, is embraced by his father, the merchant of Tirmiz, who happily welcomes his repentance. ‘Ubaid has learned a lesson about the importance of familial obedience from a wise, talking parrot and a myna bird.
A vertically oriented gum tempera and ink painting features a central scene within a gold border above columns of calligraphy. Inside an archway, a figure in an orange robe kneels on a vibrant blue floral carpet. A man in light green leans over the figure, while a woman in pink and green kneels to our right. Attendants in red and yellow robes stand at the margins against patterned tiles and a green background.
