Description

The sitter, who was born in 1820, posed for this portrait in 1834. She later became the wife of Count Raymond du Tillet.
An oval oil painting depicts a woman with light skin tone from the waist up, turned slightly to our left. She wears a white gown with voluminous sleeves and a blue and pink waistband. A long, dark necklace with a cross pendant hangs down her chest, the end tucked into her belt. Her dark hair is styled in a high bun with ringlets framing her face. She gazes past our left shoulder.
